Bill Moyer Counter-punches

In April, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting got rid of its chief executive Kathleen Cox. Ken Ferree, a former top aide to Michael Powell at the FCC, filled in as her replacement. The reason: To bring about "political balance" on the public airwaves according to Kenneth Tomlinson, chairman of CPB.

That's about when PBS lost Bill Moyers, a well known journalist. In his first public address since leaving six months ago, Bill Moyers responds to Kenneth Tomlinson with the revelation that Tomlinson hired a consultant to monitor the political content of Moyer's show "Now."
